Animal Crossing How To Get Turnips

Turnips make a return to the series in Animal Crossing New Horizons. They can be a great way to make Bells, though won't be available at the start of the game. To get them, you'll need to build a few things, and have a character called Daisy Mae visit your island. We'll explain how to do all of that, and more, in this guide.

How to Buy and Sell Turnips

To buy Turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons you'll need to have Daisy Mae visit your island. For this to occur you'll need to have built the Nook's Cranny shop (you can read more here). Once you've done so, Daisy Mae will visit your town on sundays, you can then buy Turnips from here.

When Should You Sell Your Turnips?

Turnips can be bought for a fixed price every Sunday from Daisy Mae. Every day except Sunday, Nook's Cranny will offer a certain price for Turnips. Think of them like stocks, in that the value changes each day. The key here is to check each day and try to sell the Turnips for more than you've paid. Generally, prices will vary from 35 Bells to as much as 200 Bells per Turnip, so check each day to make sure you're not missing out.

How to Check the Price of Turnips

As we mentioned, the price of Turnips will change every day. To check the price, talk to Timmy and ask about Turnips. He'll tell you the going rate.

Turnips Can Go Rotten

The main thing to keep in mind is that once you buy Turnips, they will only stay good for one week, basically until the following Sunday. You will need to sell them before then or they will go rotten. At this point, your Bell investment will be wasted. For more on making Bells head here.
